Tabahi, the leading force in Karachi’s thrash metal scene, returns with their latest offering, ‘Survive or Die’.
This powerful track pays tribute to veterans and freedom fighters who selflessly dedicate their lives to safeguarding liberty and freedom. Highlighting their sacrifices and unwavering commitment, the song is a homage to fallen and surviving comrades. ‘Survive or Die’ embodies the classic elements of old-school thrash metal, featuring high-speed rhythms, aggressive guitar riffs, intense growls, and electrifying lead solos.
Distinguished as Pakistan’s sole thrash metal band, Tabahi boldly addresses socio-political themes through their lyrics. The band’s name, meaning ‘Destruction’ in Urdu, draws inspiration from iconic Teutonic and Bay Area thrash metal legends such as Destruction, Sodom, Kreator, Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax, and Exodus. Formed by Faiq Ahmed in 2005, Tabahi includes Daniyal Buksh Soomro as the vocalist and bassist, and Omair Soomro on live drums.
Tabahi is gearing up to unveil their second EP in the upcoming months. Following their debut EP ‘Fatwa’ in 2012, the band left a global mark with their self-titled full-length album in 2014, along with their first music video, “Politricks,” released in February 2022.
