Bayaan, the musical ensemble that achieved national recognition by triumphing in the 2018 edition of Pepsi Battle of the Bands, outshining contenders like Xarb, continues to produce captivating music that resonates with every release.
Comprising of members Asfar Hussain (lead vocalist), Haider Abbas (bassist), Shahrukh Aslam (guitarist), Muqeet Shahzad (guitarist), and Mansoor Lashari (drummer), they unveiled their album “Suno” in 2020 following their victory in the Pepsi competition. While not necessarily groundbreaking, it certainly stood as a commendable album.
Amid the pandemic-induced lull in live music, Bayaan adeptly harnessed technology, introducing the Bayaan Quarantine Sessions. They even generously shared guitar tutorials for some of their cherished tracks.
Zooming into 2022, Asfar Hussain collaborated with Arooj Aftab in the 14th installment of Coke Studio, contributing to the song “Mehram.” This collaboration significantly elevated both Asfar Hussain’s individual prominence and the band’s collective fame.
Alongside the album’s release in 2020, Bayaan capitalized on the enthusiasm of both fans and critics, releasing captivating music videos periodically, including hits like “Teri Tasveer” and “Faryaad.” In November 2022, Bayaan unveiled the single and accompanying music video “Tayraak,” an innovative and animated creation brimming with raw emotion.
The Essence of Bayaan’s Emotion
Stepping into the New Year, Bayaan has embraced a more optimistic approach by gifting their fans a fresh track titled “Dil Ka Ghar” (The Home of the Heart), a stark contrast to the vibe of “Tayraak.” Crafted under the production of Rakae Jamil at Red Brick Music Studios, with lyrics penned by lead vocalist Asfar Hussain, and masterfully directed by Muaaz Ullah Tarar, the music video showcases the scenic beauty of Azad Jammu & Kashmir as a picturesque backdrop that harmoniously complements the song.
As Asfar’s vocals serenade the notion of establishing roots in this enchanting locale, evoking imagery of snow-capped peaks and candid band moments amidst rugged terrains, it becomes a poignant homage to a region that has endured its share of turbulence and strife.
The stunning landscape depicted in the video might just inspire one to trade urban hustle for the tranquility of Kashmir, echoing Bayaan’s sentiment of embracing it as a cherished abode.
Embedded subtly within the lyrics are references to the sounds and scents of the region, cleverly entwined with tender vocals and harmonious melodies.
In essence, this composition leans heavily on acoustic tonalities, shaping a musical narrative that keeps listeners intrigued, hinting at Bayaan’s evolving artistic direction. For now, dive into the enchanting world of “Dil Ka Ghar,” a soulful creation that encapsulates Bayaan’s musical journey.
